When a storm on Mars forces the evacuation of the exploratory crew, Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is somehow left behind. With no way to contact Earth or his crew mates (although he does eventually do just this) he must figure out how to survive for at least four years, til another mission arrives.
The Fox film is based on the book by Andy Weir, with a screenplay by Drew Goddard. The star-studded cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Michael Pena, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan and Donald Glover.
The Martian release date is on Nov. 25, 2015
